Factory > History

In the first half of the 18th century…
Pasquale Stingo worked next to the famous boutiques of the Massas’, the Chiaieses’, the Barberios’, the Giustinianis’ and he is still considered the founder of the “Manifattura”.

By the middle of the 19th century…
His descendants helped the activity to grow and they had acquired and were utilizing the ovens and equipment of the Giustinianis.

The development of the “Manifattura” production was accompanied by a highly outstanding artistic level given to the introduction of innovative elements of Chroma and graphics.

The productive horizon was expanded beyond the “riggiole” (tiles) and the making of vases for plants, statues, festoons, and set of dishes and plates began.

At the beginning of 20th century…
The “Manifattura” was passed down to the brothers Giuseppe, Enrico and Gennaro. From the last brother Gennaro, who was of an old age, the factory went to his sons Enrico, Camillo, Vincenzo and Giuseppe who has produced prestigious tiles contributing to increase the fame and prestige of the creramic production.

At this time…
The factory is in the hands of Imma, Gennaro and Simona Stingo, that with great care continue to produce splendid and fascinating maiolic tiles.

The decoration, cared for even in minute detail, affirming the actualization of the past which seems to want to remind everyone of the antiquity of the origins, a living testimony of the secular art of the Stingo production.
